Pizza & ice Cream social

Meet with other parents, AVHSC board members, and various volunteer leads to learn about how to get involved and see what Alta Vista has to offer! Movie Night

Walkathon***
Friday, October 13th
Chair: Ellen Pierpoint
Raise money for the school by collecting pledges and have your students come out to the field to walk those laps. There are also food trucks, face painting, and other activities to do in between walking laps. For more information on this year's walkathon click here.
WINTER & SPRING EVENTS
FAMILY DANCE

This is family dance for the whole family. Come out an enjoy some music, dancing, photobooth, and some complimentary treats and glow sticks.
Weather permitting, we will move the event outdoors and re-open tickets sales to all. Click here if you would like to join our waitlist.

MULticultural night

Each year, Alta vista families come together to proudly share their cultures and traditions with all of us. This event is a great way for children and adults to learn about different countries, traditions, cultures, attires, food, and much more. Fantasy Faire

Come out with the family for a fun filled themed fair that includes games, inflatables, face painting, music, food, and the ever popular cake contest and cake walk!!

Variety Show

Have your child show off their talents at our annual spring Variety Show!
It can be anything from singing to dancing to playing an instrument to telling jokes on stage. The options are endless! This event is typically held on a Friday evening. Students will have an opportunity to audition for the show and there is one rehearsal prior to the show.

scholastic book fair***

Our bookfair is typically held twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. You and your children can browse the scholastic books set up in the cafeteria and make purchases. Students will also have a time to go shopping during class time. Having children choose their own books empowers and inspired them to be become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. Staff Appreciation Luncheons
Hosted by the Hospitality committee

We provide lunch for the school staff throughout the year to remind them how much parents and students appreciate them!
AUTHOR VISITS
Parent volunteers partner with Hicklebees, a local bookstore, to bring well-known children's book authors to speak to the students at Alta Vista twice per year. Authors will lead a discussion and answer questions from the students. This year, we will offer virtual author visits and all students and parents will be invited to attend the YouTube presentation live, in addition to the recording. Signed copies of the books are made available for purchase online and orders can either be picked up from Hicklebees or orders of $25 or more will be delivered directly to your home.
